Anesthesia Anesthetic, Patient Monitoring and Pain Management

The term anesthesia indicates the use of medication to block sensation, typically resulting in unconsciousness. While a patient is under anesthesia, they will be monitored in a similar way as a human undergoing anesthesia would be. This monitoring includes listening to your pet's heart and lungs, visually assessing your pet's reflexes, and using equipment to monitor your pet's blood pressure, level of blood oxygen, and temperature. Additionally to the equipment, our trained technicians act alongside veterinarians to ensure that your pet's procedure goes smoothly.

We understand that putting your pet under anesthesia can be a stressful time, here at Lakeshore Road Animal Hospital, we ensure you are prepared and that all of your questions have been answered, prior to starting any anesthesthetic procedure.
